Store Mission

Fat Toads Farm Pantry is a local retail space in Bozeman, MT, dedicated to connecting our community with fresh, healthy, and sustainably grown or produced foods. 


Our mission is to:

  • Support local farmers and producers by providing a permanent retail space for consignment sales.
  • Increase food security by offering SNAP and Double SNAP options.
  • Build community connections so customers know who grows their food and can shop with purpose.
  • Promote sustainable practices by prioritizing local, environmentally responsible products.
  • We’re excited to partner with vendors who share our passion for quality, transparency, and local impact.

Vendor Eligibility

We welcome vendors who:

  • Produce food or goods locally in Montana.
  • Maintain high standards for food safety, labeling, and packaging.
  • Carry appropriate insurance (product liability recommended) or agree to our consignment liability requirements.
  • Can deliver products on a reliable schedule and adhere to consignment terms.

Licensing Requirements

All vendors must have the proper licensing to sell wholesale in Montana.

  • Produce vendors must register with the Department of Agriculture. 
  • Meat vendors are required to be a Meat Depot registered with the Department of Livestock or to have a Wholesale license with MDPHHS
  • Dairy vendors require a Wholesale License from the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) or a Department of Livestock License. Pasteurized products are licensed through MDPHHS, otherwise they must reach out to DOL to get approvals.
  • Egg vendors require a Candling License from the Department of Livestock, Milk and Egg Bureau
  • Processed or value-added food vendors require a Wholesale License from Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS).


Products will not be displayed or sold without the required licensing. This ensures compliance with state regulations and gives customers confidence in your products. If you are unsure of what kind of license you need, please reach out to the Gallatin Valley Health Department or email us at info@fattoadsfarmpantry.com.

Application Instructions

Step 1: Complete the Vendor Application Form

  • Fill out all required fields:
    • Business information
    • Product details (type, ingredients, allergens)
    • Expected inventory and delivery schedule
    • Business licenses and insurance certificates (attach copies if applicable)


Step 2: Submit Supporting Documents

  • Proof of insurance (if applicable)
  • Copies of licenses or permits
  • Product photos (optional, but recommended)


Step 3: Review & Approval

  • Applications are reviewed daily, but will not be approved until applications are closed
  • Applications will then be reviewed and approved on a rolling basis
  • Approved vendors will receive a consignment agreement to sign before delivering products 


Step 4: Delivery & Display

  • Vendors will coordinate delivery schedules and display preferences with the staff

Consignment Terms Summary)

  • Ownership: Vendor retains ownership of products until sold.
  • Pricing: Vendor sets a retail price; Fat Toads sells at this price unless otherwise agreed.
  • Commission:There will  be an option to sell on commission or to pay a monthly fee 
    • The pricing is meant to be customized for each vendor, so that we can figure out something that works for you while contributing to the costs of store operation. If you'd like to talk more about pricing please email us at info@fattoadsfarmpantry.com.
  • Delivery & Pickup: Vendor delivers products on scheduled days; unsold perishable products or expired products can be retrieved or will be taken to the Food Bank.
  • Product Safety & Insurance: Vendor is responsible for the safety and quality of products. Vendors must carry product liability insurance where applicable or sign an indemnification agreement.
  • Payment: Payments are made per agreed schedule via direct deposit
